JSC “NPO Energomash” celebrates 88 years since its foundation. The enterprise’s story began on May 15, 1929, when Valentin Petrovich Glushko headed a team for developing rockets and electric and liquid-propellant rocket engines at the Gas Dynamics Laboratory in Leningrad.
Over the years, NPO Energomash's specialists have created more than 60 engines to launch orbital and interplanetary spacecrafts into space, to provide launching of intercontinental ballistic missiles, as well as for performing special missions. The enterprise is engaged in research and development work to create new propulsion systems and to modify existing rocket engines. Among NPO Energomash's priority projects are the development of detonative combustion and oxygen-liquefied natural gas engines, as well as the use of laser ignition in liquid-propellant rocket engines.
"Over the years, NPO Energomash has become a genuine legend in rocket engine manufacturing. The enterprise is known throughout the world as the leader in the development and manufacturing of LPREs. Here we have developed the world's best design and production school,” said Igor Arbuzov, General Director of JSC “NPO Energomash”. “I am sure that the impeccable reputation and ability to find the right solutions to even the most difficult and challenging problems shall always remain NPO Energomash’s proprietary style!
