25 October 2017
For the first time Russian launch vehicle “Soyuz” was launched from Kourou space port (French Guiana) six years ago in October 2011. 17 successful launches have already been conducted by “Roscosmos” during these years.
More than 300 specialists from Russia work at Guiana space port who support Russian LVs from the moment of their construction up to the launch, including specialists of NPO Energomash flight test department as representatives of Chief Designer in order to provide designer’s supervision to support the activities for preparing the engines for the flight within LV “Soyuz-ST”.
The rocket launching from Kouru reaches the orbits more quickly and carries more payloads as the space port which belongs to European Space Agency, is located near the Equator.
Next “Soyuz” launch is scheduled for February 2018.
